City Clerk

The City Clerk's office is currently located in downtown Geneva. Office hours are from 8:30 am to 4 pm. Monday through Friday. For marriage licenses, please call ahead for information.

Two employees, the City Clerk and the Deputy City Clerk, are committed to supplying information, knowledge, reference and cooperation to the general public, all departments and elected officials.

Vital Statistics & License Information

The City Clerk records all vital statistics in the City (births, deaths and marriages) and records the minutes of all City Council meetings. The City Clerk is also the Records Management Officer and processes all Freedom of Information requests and claims for distribution to the proper departments.

  • Trash collectors

**NEW**

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed legislation into law creating a new path for people over the age of 18 to apply for a “one-day designation”, authorizing them to solemnize a single marriage on a specified day in the State of New York.  Application for a One-day Marriage Officiant License along with a $25 non-refundable fee must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office when the couple applies for their marriage license.  Note: applications must be submitted to the same office where the couple will obtain their marriage license.

Cemetery Records

Cemetery records for both Washington and Glenwood Cemeteries are recorded in the office.

Records for Saint Mary's Cemetery (Town of Geneva) and Saint Patrick's Cemetery are kept at the Our Lady of Peace Parish Offices - call 315-789-7180 for information.
